STAR Support Group Begins - strategic trauma abuse recovery.
20 Year Anniversary of First Steps Program. Visiting nearly 8,000 new mothers during that time, offering information and support at the birth of their babies. Partial funding from the Department of Public Health.
First Executive Director hired full-time.
Clarkesville Kiwanis donated $3,600 to purchase Stewards of Children workbooks to train Habersham County residents and reach tipping point.
Supervised Family Visitation Program begins through funding from "Promoting Safe and Stable Families".
GRAND OPENING - New Family Resource Center Opens
Free Nurturing Parenting Classes funded by Habersham Family Connection.
Reached tipping point, training 5% of the adult population on how to prevent child sexual abuse.
Parents as Teachers turns a decade old, having helped over 330 caregivers be their child's first, best teacher.
Three New Programs Begin!
- Counseling Program for child abuse victims and adult survivors of difficult childhood experiences. Funded through the Victims of Crime Act, CJCC (Criminal Justice Coordinating Council)
- Substance Abuse Recovery Classes using Nurturing Parenting Curriculum
- Parent Cafes kick off and become a favorite monthly meeting for parents
Funding received for new program: Healthy Families Northeast Georgia - services for teen parents including parent education, advocacy, and referrals.
