South State Bank sets the stage for parents throughout Northeast Georgia to enjoy the Family Resource Center’s new Positive Parenting Program that kicks off in January 2019, along with their ongoing Life Skills for Thriving Families Workshops. South State Bank’s recent $3,500 donation will go to help fuel this innovative program that gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behavior and prevent problem behaviors from developing.

Kicking off Sunday, January 6th will be an afternoon session for parents of infants to tweens from 3-5 pm, and then then the session from 6-8 pm will host parents of pre-teens and teens. Classes are free to all caregivers. In addition, childcare is being offered to help parents that wish to participate make the commitment without the hassle of finding someone to care for their little ones. “We would like to thank the team at South State Bank that worked to secure Community Reinvestment Act dollars and investing them in our parenting educational programs,” says Jennifer Stein, “Senior Vice President, Mark Brown and Loan Officer Assistant, Renee Harrelson took a special interest in this program that will pave the way for all caregivers to have the support they need along the challenging journey of raising children.”

Family Resource Center of Northeast Georgia is a non-profit located in Clarkesville, Georgia empowering families towards success and helping them create a happier, calmer family life through parent education, support groups, therapeutic counseling, and supervised family visitation.
