Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga, practiced with the support of a chair. In our trauma-informed chair yoga class, we will learn simple, effective practices that help de-stress, release tension, increase strength & flexibility, and facilitate a greater sense of well-being and body awareness. Chair yoga is an all-levels class suitable for anyone, including those who are new to yoga, find balancing challenging, are sitting frequently, or have limited mobility or injury. Trauma-informed yoga helps participants increase their body awareness--notice what is happening inside their bodies-- and thereby learn to release tension, reduce fear and arousal, develop a greater capacity to cope, and ultimately create a greater sense of wholeness, wellness, and connection to mind-body-spirit.
This free class is open to any adult survivor with one or more Adverse Childhood Experiences.
