Did you know that counties across Georgia have been hearing about the wonderful things that are happening right here in Habersham County because of the many programs that PCAH’s Family Resource Center offers? Due to this amazing distinction, our Executive Director, Jennifer Stein, was asked to speak at a community forum in Effingham County – a forum held in response to the tragic deaths of two teens.
With the safety of children on everyone’s mind they invited community stakeholders to a combined Civic Dinner and Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, March 28th. The evening was spent exploring existing supports for families and discussing opportunities to build on them through further innovation and community involvement. Their goal was to connect, nurture and equip current and future collaborative partnerships to create a stronger county.
The Effingham Department of Family and Children Services in partnership with the County Sheriff’s Office and the Family Connection Collaborative hosted this event. The evening was facilitated by DFCS Division Director Tom Rawlings and County Director Dedra Simich.
