The three-part Budget Workshop for our Life Skills for Thriving Families class concluded this week with a trip to Ingles in Clarkesville. Fourteen students were divided into two groups to tour the store and learn how to shop efficiently.  Instructor Cara-Lee Langston from the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia taught the participants how to shop on a tight budget, and gave them some great tips to stretch their food budget. They also learned about the importance of making good choices to meet the nutritional needs of their family. Each participant was given $10 to purchase groceries after carefully planning a meal for four using what they learned. It was a great hands-on experience for everyone!
